1st Welford Scout Group

I can’t believe that it is a whole year since we were able to restart our Beaver Colony. Time really does fly when you are having fun! There are two types of badges that Beavers, Cubs and Scouts can earn – Activity Badges and Challenge Awards. As the name suggests, Activity Badges are based around specific activities and can generally be earned over two or three meetings.

Our youngsters had a busy November and December. At the start of November, Yvette from St Peter’s Church came along to Beavers at the Long Marston Village Hall, before whizzing back to Welford to welcome the Cubs and then Scouts to their meetings at St Peter’s Church.

At the time of writing this we are about to start a new term with our youngsters.   We are looking forward to finding out what they have done through the holidays. 

Maybe our Cubs have been camping out in their back gardens in preparation for their first overnight camp? The Cubs had a lively discussion at the end of the summer term about what snacks they would like at camp and practiced making fruit kebabs and tortillas with salsa, demonstrating great knife skills. They then watch excerpts from Jungle Book while eating their snacks.
